Khoya Matar is an awesome recipe made in the combined flavors of green peas and khoya. This recipe is made in spicy flavors and gives a unique taste by adding chopped dry fruits.

Ingredients:
- 200 gms green peas (boiled)
- 1 potato (peeled and chopped)
- 500 gms khoya (milk solids)
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 4-5 green chillies thinly chopped
- 1 onion thinly chopped
- 4 tomatoes puree
- 1/2 tbsp cumin seeds
- 3-4 black peppercorns
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1-1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp kitchen king
- 1/4 tsp dried mango powder
- Fresh cilantro chopped
- 1 tbsp cashew nuts chopped
- 1 tbsp pistachio chopped
- 2 tbsp raisins
- 1 tbsp butter
- Salt to taste
How to make Khoya Matar:
- Melt the butter in a kadhai and add cumin seeds.
- Leave the seeds to crackle and add ginger-garlic paste, green chillies and thinly chopped onion.
- Saute for few seconds until onion translucent.
- Switch off the gas and leave the onion mixture to cool for few minutes.
- Blend the fried onion into a smooth paste.
- Heat the same pan and saute the smooth paste of onion for few seconds.
- Now add chopped potato, tomato puree, salt, peppercorns and all other spices.
- Stir until gravy thickens and then add boiled green peas.
- Slightly roast the khoya in a saucepan and add in the pan mixture.
- Stir constantly for few minutes until the dish gets ready.
- Finally garnish the recipe with chopped nuts and cilantro.
- Serve piping hot with roti or rice.
Chef Tips:
- I have used frozen green peas but you can make this recipe by using any type of green peas.
- Oil can be used instead of butter.
- If you do not have time to cook onion and then making paste, then use simply the onion paste and saute well, still the taste will be amazing.
