Mixed Salad is a combination of cabbage, capsicum, carrot and various other salad ingredients. It is a healthy recipe which should be there in every day menu of meal. Eating salad is really a good habit for glowing skin and active body. It consists of proteins, vitamins and carbohydrates. Our family doctor always suggest a good thing about salad and that is “You should not fill your stomach fully with the food, keep a little space for salad also. There should be salad in your every day menu. Eat a bowl of salad first and after that if you feel hungry then only eat food, otherwise salad itself fills your hunger quota in your body”.

Servings: 3-4 persons
Ingredients:
- 1/2 medium size cabbage
- 1/2 green bell pepper
- 1 cucumber peeled and washed
- 1 beet root boiled and chopped
- 2 tomatoes sliced and chopped (remove pulp)
- 1/2 carrot peeled
- 1 small onion
- 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- Salt to taste
How to make Mixed Salad:
- In a big bowl, grate the cabbage, capsicum, carrot, onion and cucumber.
- Mix all the ingredients thoroughly.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and beet root.
- Add salt, lemon juice and black pepper powder.
- Toss and Mix well until a nice color of beet root comes evenly in the whole salad.
- Keep in the refrigerator and serve while eating.
Chef Tips:
- You can add tomato and salt later while eating, as they may leave their water.
- You can add your favorite roasted dry fruits such as peanuts, almonds, etc in the mixed salad.
