Paneer in Green Sauce is a wonderful combination of paneer, cilantro and mint leaves. Fried Paneer cubes are very well cooked in green sauce or chutney. It is hard to see this recipe in the menu of every restaurant, as only few restaurants of Mumbai serve this dish. So if you want to serve this recipe in just restaurant style, then try to make it at your home in the way I have cooked.

Ingredients:
- 250 gms cottage cheese (paneer)
- 1/2 cup mint leaves
- 1/2 cup cilantro leaves
- 5 green chillies
- 4-5 peanuts
- 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tsp butter
- 1/2 cup hung curd
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp lime juice
- 1 big onion thinly chopped
- Whole garam masala (2 cloves, 1 inch cinnamon, 4 black pepper balls, 3 bay leaves, 1/2 tsp khaskhas, 1 black cardamom, 2 green cardamoms,1 tsp cumin seeds)
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 cup water
How to make Paneer in Green Sauce:
- Cut the paneer in small cubes, shallow fry and keep aside.
- In a mixer grinder add mint leaves, cilantro leaves, green chillies, peanuts, salt and water, make a fine green paste.
- In a sauce pan saute whole garam masala and grind to make a powder.
- Heat up a wide bottomed pan and add butter.
- Meanwhile add ginger-garlic paste and saute.
- Add chopped onion and cook on very low flame for 3 minutes.
- Add ground green paste and saute well.
- Add salt, turmeric powder and coriander powder.
- Cook until gravy becomes thick.
- Add curd and mix well.
- Add fried paneer, mix gently and cook for a minute on low flame.
- Add lime juice, garam masala powder and cook for 2 more minutes.
- Paneer in green sauce or chutney is ready to serve hot with Indian flat bread or naan.
Chef Tips:
- If you want to serve this recipe with the rice then add more water and make medium thick gravy.
- You can add spinach or fenugreek paste in the same gravy.
