Paneer in Basil Sauce is the delicious blend of fried paneer cubes into the gravy of basil and flavored with tomato sauce and other spices. The aromatic basil leads this dish and enhance the taste and flavors. The great dish to serve as a side dish or also can be served with Indian roti or naan.

Ingredients:
- 400 gms paneer cubes
- 1 bowl fresh basil leaves
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1/2 inch ginger
- 6 green chillies
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp roasted cumin (jeera)
- 1/2 fresh cream
- 1/2 tsp pepper powder
- 2 tsp olive oil
- Vegetable oil to deep fry
- 2 tbsp tomato sauce
- Salt to taste
How to make Paneer in Basil Sauce:
- Heat a pan and pour sufficient oil. Leave to hot.
- Deep fry the cubes of paneer and keep aside.
- Combine basil, green chillies, ginger, garlic, lemon juice and cumin.
- Grind to make a smooth paste.
- Add little bit of salt and mix well.
- In a pan heat olive oil and add the grounded paste of basil.
- Cook on very low flame for 2-1/2 minutes.
- Now add tomato sauce and pepper powder.
- Mix well and add fried paneer.
- Cook for about 2 minutes until few boils start coming out and add fresh cream.
- Mix well and cook for 2 more minutes.
- Serve hot with roti or naan.
Chef Tips:
- You can refrigerate this basil sauce for 3-4 days.
- If you want you can use paneer cubes as it is, I mean without deep frying, but the fried paneer add more taste in the recipe.
