How to make Sindhi Pakwan Recipe:
Sindhi Pakwan Recipe is the crispy and deep fried Indian breads made with All-Purpose Flour and spiced with cumin seeds.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (maida)
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
- 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Take a big vessel and mix in 1 cup maida, 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera), 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder, 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder and salt to taste.
- Mix it very well and add about 1 teaspoon of oil. Gradually add water and form a semi soft dough.
- Cover the dough and keep it aside for 20-30 minutes.
- Make about 6 small balls from the prepared dough and roll out each into a round poori/circle shape. Prick either with a fork or with knife. It helps your pakwan not to puff like poori.
- Heat good amount of oil in a frying pan and fry each pakwan over medium high flame for 2-3 minutes, by flipping over, till it turns crispy and golden.
- Remove on paper towels to drain the excess oil. When it is still warm, then serve this delicious homemade pakwan with dal.
Notes
You can cool down the pakwan and then store them in an air tight container for 2-3 days. You can even take half quantity of maida and half quantity of wheat flour for making this pakwan. This Sindhi Pakwan can be enjoyed with Sindhi Dal or even with Plain Tea.
