Masala Omelette is a Versatile Indian Breakfast simply made with Eggs, Onion, Tomato and Flavorful Spices. In India, Masala Omelette is made in different ways. Some people use vegetables such as carrot and capsicum in it. You can also do that. This Masala Omelette is one more version of basic omelette and a quick Breakfast Dish.
Though there are variety of omelettes that can be made at home, such as Cheese Omelette, Mushroom Omelette, Capsicum and Potato Omelette and many more. But this one is my most favorite omelette and I’m always ready for making it.
Masala Omelette is my favorite omelette and I like to add dried oregano in it, because it gives a wonderful taste to my omelette. I also like to add all the flavorful masala’s, which gives the spice touch to this. It is very important to add flavorful spices in masala omelette to change the flavor profile of a normal, basic omelette. That’s why we call it a Masala Omelette. Let’s see the ingredients for making a perfect Masala Omelette at home.
How to make Masala Omelette:
Masala Omelette is the Flavorful Omelette Recipe made with Eggs, Onion, Tomatoes and Indian Spices. It is another version of Basic Omelette and In India, it is cooked in several different ways.
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 small onion thinly chopped
- 1/2 tomato thinly chopped
- 1 green chili chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon capsicum, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/4 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder
- 1/2 tablespoon milk
- Fresh coriander leaves chopped
- 1/2 tablespoon oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Break the eggs in a bowl and add chopped onion, tomato, capsicum and green chili in it.
- Mix well and add 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1/4 teaspoon coriander powder, 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder, 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder, 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder and salt to taste. Mix very well for a minute to blend the flavors of all spices. Finally add chopped coriander leaves and 1/2 tablespoon of milk.
- Mix all the ingredients very well.
- Heat 1/2 tablespoon of oil in a non-stick frying pan.Pour the egg mixture and spread it evenly.
- Leave to cook for about 2-3 minutes, till the eggs are set and gets cooked from down side.
- Check whether the omelette is cooked and able to flip. Then carefully flip and cook for few more minutes.
- Serve with Pav or Bread Slices.
Notes
You may cover the pan with lid while cooking omelette to cook it properly from top as well. This will help you flip omelette easily and omelette will not break.
Chef Tips:
- Always beat the eggs separately in a bowl before mixing the ingredients, its because sometime eggs are not fresh to make omelette. You can feel their smell on the spot.
- A little milk helps in making the omelette more fluffy.

Delish.I fry all the ingredients in little oil than add to egg.Mix and fry like omelette.Whole new taste.Egg cooks faster than onion,tomato,chilli and capicicum when cooked.This way all ingredients are cooked perfectly.Cheers
